Well, actually, serenade probably isn’t a good word to describe The Canal Bank Shuffle’s latest installment in their summer series, last night at the Moose and Goose of Front Street. Popa Chubby is a fantastic blues performer and he can make that worn old guitar of his do pretty much anything he wants, but he likes the volume turned UP. And I mean all the way up.

But it was still worth a listen (from the back, in my case).

There is, so far, one more installment in this series, also at the Moose and Goose. The performer is one who has performed at the October Shuffle in the past, named Ronnie Baker Brooks. It will be at 7:00 pm on Monday, August 8 (doors open at 6:30) and is also the Shuffle’s media night, where they unveil the line-up for this October’s Canal Bank Shuffle. Tickets, as for all this series, will be $10.00 in advance, $15.00 at the door.
