If anyone has any doubts that Thorold has some great people, they just have to look at all the awards racked up here. The latest I’ve heard of is 22.5-year veteran Port Robinson Volunteer Fire Fighter, Rose Terreberry.
Saturday, Rose was the recipient of an award from Fire Service Women Ontario (FSWO). For her great work in the community, she was awarded a 20 year federal Exemplary Federal Service Medal (2015). This award, as stated on the trophy, is the 3E Award 2017, for recognition of her commitment to the goals and objectives of the FSWO, to Educate, Encourage and Empower.
In announcing this award, Station 3 Volunteer District Chief Carl Pearson also announced that Rose will be retiring at the end of December, a loss I’m sure will be felt in the Thorold Fire Department. I’ve seen her volunteering with First Aid at a number of community events all over Thorold over the years, and can attest to her spirit and hard work.
Congratulations, Rose. You’ll be missed.
